Description

The designs of these rugs are taken from old Caucasian peices, and are woven mainly by Hazara tribes in Central Afghanistan. Their method of weaving is called Chappat Baft. These craftsmen fled from the Taliban regime in the 1990’s leaving almost everything but keeping their spinning and weaving skills. Kazak rugs revived by these skilful Hazara tribes in the North West frontier of Pakistan.
